SUMMER SCHEDULES:
Weekday Mass: There will be no weekday Mass July 28 through August 1. The schedule through August will be Mass at 9:00 am on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Eucharistic Adoration and Confession:The schedule through August will be
Eucharistic Adoration: Wednesdays, 7:00 pm
Confession: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:30 am

First Friday Observance: In August, our observance of First Friday, with Adoration and Benediction, as well as Eucharistic Visitation of the Homebound, will be transferred to the second Friday, August 8th, in order better to accommodate other activities.

Feast of the Assumption, August 15, a Holy Day of Obligation. Masses that day will be at 9:00 am and 6:30 pm.

Combined Parish Pastoral and Finance Council Meeting has been rescheduled for Monday, August 11th, at 7:00 pm. At this meeting we will greet new members of both Councils and take a look at future planning for the parish.

Flowers for the Church: If you would like to donate flowers from your garden or yard for use in the church, please call the rectory so we can arrange to get them. We need the larger, taller and showier varieties to fit the scale of the church.

Vespers and Ice Cream Social, August 3rd: Vespers will be at 6:30 pm followed by an Ice Cream Social. Please sign up for the social on the sign-up sheet in the vestibule of the Church. Ice cream and refreshments will be served but platters of cookies, brownies and other finger foods are most welcome. Please bring your own lawn chairs or picnic blanket. Let us know if you can help with set-up or clean-up.

Feed the Hungry: “Feed the Hungry” is one of the Corporal Works of Mercy. The Woodstock Community Food Shelf is in need of food and non-food items. Canned goods such as vegetables, fruits, tuna fish, coffee would be most welcomed. Laundry detergent, soaps and paper products are some of the needed items. We want to say thank you to all who have been so generous in donating goods to those who are in need.

The Food Shelf at St. James Church is open 12:00 noon –3:00 pm on Wednesdays and 10:00 am - 12:00 noon on Saturday. If these times are difficult for you, call 457-1727 to schedule an appointment. The food shelf staff want to thank all the parishioners who support and donate to this worthy cause.

Annual Parish Dinner and Golf Tournament September 15th: Please mark your calendar for this annual event to be held at the Woodstock Country Club. For more information call the parish office.

Donate Your Vehicle: Two organizations in the area, "Bonnie Clac" and "Good News Garage" are accepting donations of automobiles to help people in need of transportation to get to work. You can still get a fair market tax deduction for your vehicle. Please call 603-443-9701 or 877-448-3288 for information.

Windsor County Partners, mentors to local young people for 30 years, is looking for volunteers to help reduce the wait list of approved 11 to 17 year-olds who are in need of an adult friend. After screening and careful matching, the nonprofit agency provides training and assistance. The commitment, for the young person and the adult friend, is for a flexible three hours a week, for one year. Senior partners provide a relationship that inspires trust, self-esteem and social responsibility. Often the bonds created become lifetime friendships and Senior Partners say they are the big winners in the relationship. DHMC Blood Donor Program: Just one unit of blood can save the lives of three people. Donation takes less than an hour of your time. The DHMC Blood Donor Program is open Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 7:00 am-5:00 pm; Thursdays 7:00 am-6:00 pm; Fridays, 7:00 am-11:30 am.
